Yemen vs Saudi Arabia or Daood Vs Goliath

The duel of the century….. the House of Saud bullies its neighbor all in the name of religion……a silly premise to kill……no matter which religion it is…..

Our story begins with the Houthi rebels in Yemen attacking and winning skirmishes with the Yemeni military….the Houthis are Shia and the House of Saud decided that a Shia country next to the Holy sites of Islam was unacceptable……so the war began with the Saudis attacking Houthi positions…..after months of constant airstrikes the small country of Yemen looks in worse shape than Syria after 4 years of civil war.

The Yemeni people are hungry and thirsty and the war continues…..a humanitarian crisis is looming even worse than it is today.

The civilian deaths are mounting up and up…..it is so bad that Saudi Arabia has been brought up on charges in front of the UN…..but that went no where…..the Western countries are running cover for the House of Saud……

For those that would like to get more information on this conflict may I suggest the following……..

The following maps aim to illustrate distinct facets of the Yemen conflict, and illuminate some rarely discussed aspects of its ongoing civil war.

In a U-turn at the United Nations Human Rights Council, Western governments dropped plans Wednesday for an international inquiry into human rights violations by all parties in the war in Yemen that has killed thousands of civilians in the last six months.

The change of direction came as the Netherlands withdrew the draft of a resolution it had prepared with support from a group of mainly Western countries that instructed the United Nations high commissioner for human rights to send experts to Yemen to investigate the conduct of the war.

That proposal was a follow-up to recommendations by the commissioner, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, who detailed in a report this month the heavy civilian loss of life inflicted not only by the relentless airstrikes of the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia but also by the indiscriminate shelling carried out by Houthi rebels.

Of course the US is doing what it always does….protect the Saudis at all costs……a usual suspect for denying the truth is McCain……..when asked about civilian deaths caused by the Saudis…….

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., spent the most time discussing the issue with me. But his answers were perplexing.

“They may be bombing civilians, which is actually not true,” McCain said, when asked about civilian casualties in Yemen.

“Civilians aren’t dying?” I asked.

“No, they’re not,” the senator replied. “Oh, I’m sure civilians die in war. Not nearly as many as the Houthis have executed,” McCain continued, referring to the Shiite militia waging an insurgency against the Sunni government in Yemen.

Asked about the recent reports of Saudi forces bombing a wedding party in Yemen, McCain said, “I’m sure in wars terrible things happen and the Houthis however are an extremist group backed by the Iranians who are slaughtering Yemenis.”

The Saudis are killing civilians at an alarming rate…….the most recent deaths were a wedding party…….

The death toll from a missile strike on a wedding party in Yemen has jumped to 131, medics have said, making it one of the deadliest attacks on civilians during the war and drawing strong condemnation from the UN secretary-general.

Residents said that two missiles tore through tents in the Red Sea village of Al-Wahijah, near the port of Al-Mokha. A local man affiliated with the Houthis – the Shia rebel group who are fighting the coalition – was holding his wedding reception.

A source at a hospital in Maqbana, where the casualties were taken, said on Tuesday that the death toll from the attack had risen to 131…….

There is no end in sight…..if things keep up this pace then Yemen will once again be divided into 2 separate states as it was in 1968-1990 when the two unified and became one state…Yemen.  (a little history never hurts)……

Shall we count the conflicts in the Middle East……sorry there is not enough time for that……there is NEVER enough time for the right thing in the Middle East.

Exposed: Obama’s Secret Side Deals With Iran

dIn A move that has raged the GOP, President Obama has made secret side deals with Iran.

According to the Associated Press, a side deal was made between Iran and the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency allowing Iran to use its own inspectors to inspect a location accused of building nuclear arms. It is usually the U.N. who inspects such sites, so why not this site?

“International inspections should be done by international inspectors,” stated Ed Royce, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman. “Period.”

It was a document seen by AP that brought this issue to light and that has the Republican lawmakers angered. Already very critical of Obama’s Iran Deal because it is basically built recklessly on trust alone with the Iranians, the GOP finds this new development imprudent.

It was the Obama Administration who insisted it would depend on reliable scrutiny over the Iranian sites in question. Not only the GOP but many of us want to know why, then, are the Iranians inspecting their own sites?

House Speaker John Boehner stated, “President Obama boasts his deal includes ‘unprecedented verification.’ He claims it’s not built on trust. But the administration’s briefings on these side deals have been totally insufficient—and it still isn’t clear whether anyone at the White House has seen the final documents.”

“Worse,” according to ESHRAF, “Obama didn’t even reveal the existence of these secret side deals to Congress when he transmitted the nuclear accord to Capitol Hill. The agreements were uncovered, completely by chance, by two members of Congress — Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) — who were in Vienna meeting with the U.N.-related agency.”

It was President Obama who signed into law The Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. This law unequivocally states that all materials and ‘annexes’ associated with the Iran Deal must be transmitted by the president to Congress. Well, it seems that the president has broken the law, one in which he wrote.

All of this aside, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is not sure what the disclosure has to do with the Iran Deal because, according to her, the disclosure relates to past military efforts and not any nuclear efforts moving ahead.

Pelosi stated, “I truly believe in this agreement.” If there were a vote today “the president’s veto would be sustained. But I feel very confident about it…We will sustain the veto.”

Before voting on the Iran deal Congress should be adamant about seeing the side deals. How many of us would buy a piece of land site unseen and just take the sellers word for it that the land was fertile, especially when that seller has a bit of a track-record for embellishments?

It will take a two-thirds vote in both houses to override the president’s veto, 45 House Democrats and 13 Senate Democrats.

Pompeo stated, “My mission in the next 45 days is to convince 45 House Democrats to override the veto. It’s a long climb, but this is important.”

Iran is getting ready to come into $150 billion dollars in sanctions relief. These relief moneys are based on negotiated agreements between Iran and IAEA that not one U.S. representative has viewed.

Is this wise, Mr. President? You may very well be putting our national security at great risk. “We need to see these documents in order to evaluate whether verification is ample to make such a big concession to the Iranians,” Pompeo said.

“No member of Congress should be asked to vote on an agreement of this historic importance absent knowing what the terms of the verification process are.”

US: Never Defend Democracy Again!

For decades or more the US has been going around the globe as an arbiter of democracy….and in all those years it has been a lie!  The US has propped up many more dictators and autocrats than the old USSR ever did……all in the name of democracy.

Let’s look at three years ago when the so-called “Arab Spring” began in Tunisia……the US came out all in favour of the Arab world in following suit and travel that road to democracy…..country after country rose up and autocrats took it on the lamb…..but sadly all the effort of those people feel on deaf years….the US for all their bluster backed the next autocrat that gamed to system to take power…..so their diatribe about democracy was all a show.

Most recently the Palestinians brought a petition to the UN about recognizing Palestine…….of course the Israelis went batcrap crazy and turned to their lap dog to stop the insanity of a Palestinian state…..the US did as it was told…..

A UN Security council resolution on Palestinian statehood by 2017 has failed, with 8 votes in favor, one short of the nine needed for passage. Even then, the vote wasn’t going through, as the US vetoed it.

The US had promised the veto, and reportedly threatened to sanction the Palestinians for even presenting the doomed bill, which called for Israel to end the occupation by 2017.

Still unclear is the fate of an alternative version proposed by the French government, which is significantly watered down and only calls for the resumption of peace talks in the next two years. Israel is pushing a veto, but the US hasn’t yet made its intentions clear.

The US and especially President Obama has proven once and for all that they are NO friend to the democratic way of governance.

I NEVER want to hear any elected official democracy ever again…..if they do I will be a thorn in their worthless ass….I shall call them out on every turn…..

Israel is said to be “very satisfied”……….

Israel expressed satisfaction on Wednesday after the UN Security Council failed to adopt a controversial resolution on Palestinian statehood setting a 12-month deadline for reaching a final peace deal.

“Every Israeli who wants peace with our neighbours can only be satisfied with the results of this vote,” deputy foreign minister Tzahi HaNegbi told public radio several hours after the resolution failed to pass within the 15-member council.

“This deals a blow to efforts by (Palestinian president) Mahmud Abbas to embarrass and isolate us,” said HaNegbi, a close associate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Of course they are “satisfied”.……that they can manipulate the world’s most powerful country………they dangle the treat of cash in front of them and the US comes on command and does its tricks for its MASTER!

It is time for NO one country to have VETO power in the UN...Time for a change.  The US has proven time and time again that it is NOT a good protector of democracy….time for the UN to do its duty and be the protector of democracy….do it now or close the goddamn doors and go home!

Palestinians do have an alternate road they can travel…..and I think they should pursue it like a Pit Bull with a human leg……

Stung by a resounding defeat in the UN Security Council, the Palestinians announced today that they joined the International Criminal Court to pursue war crimes charges against Israel. The move by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas set the stage for a diplomatic showdown with the United States and was likely to draw an angry response from Israel. Abbas had threatened to join the international court if yesterday’s Security Council resolution failed: The Palestinians had asked the council to set a three-year deadline for Israel to withdraw from all occupied lands claimed by the Palestinians.

“We want to complain,” said Abbas. “There’s aggression against us, against our land. The Security Council disappointed us.” After two decades of failed, on-again, off-again peace talks, the Palestinians have grown disillusioned and have decided to seek international recognition of their independence. While the campaign does not change the situation on the ground, the Palestinians believe strong international support will put pressure on Israel to allow the creation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and east Jerusalem.

But of course if they do pursue this line the US will make them, Palestinians< pay for their boldness……..

The State Department has warned it intends to “review” all aid provided to the Palestinian Authority in the wake of their bid to join the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying the bid would have “implications.

The US has made it clear they oppose ICC membership for the Palestinians, though there does not seem to be any particular reason for the ICC to deny them membership

What kind of democratic country would PUNISH another country for seeking justice for wrong…..Obama should have bruises from all the Israeli tea-bagging he has taken.

It is time for Israel to stop being the BULLY of the Middle East and move into the 21st century….time for them to become a responsible participant in a MODERN world!
