Do you listen or watch the news? If so then the war on ISIS is going as planned and the Coalition is having great successes and few misses……if you are one of those people then you are sadly mistaken and maybe you should pull your head out of your butt and face reality.
There is NO one in the global community that believes a word of what Kerry and Obama has to say….the only ones that will play along are the ones that are getting their fair share of the goodies to fight ISIS.
I know that the Coalition has won the battle for Kobane…..and I know the media wants the world to believe that ISIS is bleeding from all the air-strikes….if all that is true then someone show me where ISIS is reeling……pick a spot and let it fly!
Now if the US is unwilling to do what is necessary…..then who?
Recently Jordan stepped up in retaliation for the death of their pilot……but how long will that last? Plus Jordan, while a massive army is not capable of fighting ISIS on their own. They can contribute but they cannot lead.
Now on to the monarchies of the Arabian Peninsula….one is ass deep in the extreme form of Islam and will be worthless for they will play both sides against the middle…..and another who does more whining that action to fight the bad guy……and the South end of the land is dealing with turmoil and rebellion…they will be useless.
How about our so-called western allies? UK will only be a token force….so will Germany and France……Canada….well its Canada. They will do as little as possible to fulfill any agreements made in the past.
Even the Arab League has weighed into the situation…..they offered up a statement concerning ISIS………Arab League foreign ministers agreed to take all necessary measures to confront ISIS and cooperate with international, regional and national efforts to combat militants who have overrun swathes of Iraq and Syria.
The Arab League also endorsed in the closing statement of its meeting in Cairo a U.N. Security Council resolution passed last month calling on member states to “act to suppress the flow of foreign fighters, financing and other support to Islamist extremist groups in Iraq and Syria.
Good statement.…but this group has all the authority of me over my daughter…..NONE! They are a non-player in this drama.
Who does that leave to do the heavy lifting?
It boils down to the countries most effected by ISIS…..Turkey, Iraq and Syria. Let’s start with Syria……the clarity of mission here is about as clear as a glass of mud. There is NO one capable of defining this situation accurately.
That leaves Iraq and Turkey……we will tart with Turkey…..they have the capability to take on ISIS….they have a good air force and a large army…..just do not possess the resolve. Turkey has a Kurd problem so anything they do to help the Kurds be successful will be seen as a weakness at home. Now Iraq….they should be the most concerned and the most active, after all it is their country that is being ripped apart.. The problem there is in-fighting……….sect against sect……….ethnic group against ethnic group……..government against the population.
They will need more time and training to be capable of fighting the good fight.
We could always call in a favor from Kuwait for the Gulf War….but they would be worthless and probably do not care as long as the royal family keeps their bucks.
All that out of the way…..brings us back to the original question……Who will do the dirty work?
After looking at the situation and doing a little fundamental analysis the only answer is….……...U S of A!
A case could be made that we, America, screwed the pooch in Iraq and we should clean up our mess. Plus we are the only entity capable of inflicting the amount of pain on ISIS to claim it defeated………but then someone needs to define “defeated”.
Best estimate unless something drastic happens is that this will continue as is until there is a new prez in DC. Why? Obama ran as an anti-war candidate and h will not want to ruin his legacy. Keep in mind decisions are made by leaders with their own agenda and the people play little part in their decisions.
In conclusion, the dirty work will be done by the US….just not right now….after all the Military-Industrial Complex has not decided how all this situation should play out. When they decide…..so will the president.
