#AceNewsDesk – Pressure on Nord Stream 2 Increased Before Navalny Case, German Lawmaker Claims: In mid-September, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that Berlin does not rule out freezing the Nord Stream 2 project over the alleged poisoning of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.

“Olga Petersen, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, told the Russian daily Komsomolskaya Pravda that the increasing pressure on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project started before the situation surrounding Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.”

She argued that in early August, “three US senators, led by Ted Cruz, wrote an official letter, in which they issued threats to the administration of the German port of Mukran, used for the construction of the [Nord Stream 2] gas pipeline”.
“The lawmaker warned that Berlin abandoning the project, in which she said Germany is interested, would entail negative consequences for the country’s economy.”

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Over the past week, the Delaware Valley saw a series of troubling acts of violence against police officers. The incidents spanned Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Two men are charged with the arson of a patrol car parked on the 2100 block of South Simpson Street in Southwest Philadelphia around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was hurt, but the car has extensive damage.

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Texas health officials on Sunday reported 2,466 new coronavirus cases and 45 more deaths due to COVID-19.

There are a reported 688,534 total cases and 14,893 deaths, up from 686,068 confirmed cases and 14,848 deaths reported Saturday, according to the state health department. The true number of cases is likely higher though because many people haven’t been tested and studies suggest people can be infected and not feel sick.

” Leifer, 52, is accused of sexually assaulting female students during her time as principal of the ultra-Orthodox Adass Israel school in Melbourne’s south-east. Victorian police have charged her with 74 offences.”
